Welcome to the Official Website for Ronald L. Farmer

Welcome to my “home” on the web.
Remember that perennial essay prompt in high school English class each fall, “How I spent my summer vacation”? Well, I’d have to say that I spent the summer of 2009 learning basic HTML code and building websites. In fact, this is my third (and last, for a while!) website. After you explore this site, I hope you’ll visit the other two, which are joint ventures with my wife, Patricia: NovelTheology.com and PatriciaAdamsFarmer.com.
“So, what possessed you to embark on this rather ambitious project?” you may ask. That’s an excellent question, especially when you consider how slow I was to join Facebook — and I still don’t Twitter. Although I now carry a cell phone, I use it to talk, not text (it’s not a very “smart” phone).
In a nutshell, I became convinced that the Internet could be an effective tool to support both my writing and teaching endeavors. Over time, I plan to add Reading Guides for each of my books and major articles/essays, and to make available Lecture Notes from my academic and general audience lectures, workshops, and seminars. And who knows? I might even learn enough of this new-fangled technology to make podcasts and videos available.
I invite you to visit my website often to see what new features and material I’ve added. I’d also love to hear from you, either through my Contact Me button or on Facebook. And don’t forget to sign up for my free monthly newsletter, “Ron’s Reflections.” This short newsletter contains my reflections on life, information about updates to the website, helpful links, and so forth. You’ll find a sign-up box on most pages of the website.
Shalom,
